Robert G. Goodman, Ed.D.
Robert Goodman, is a family business advisor at Roseview Advisors focusing on leadership and team development in family owned and privately held businesses. Dr. Goodman worked for several years at Genus Resources, LLC, helping families understand and work through family dynamics on behalf of achieving business success. He has also advised leaders in high-tech, retail, pharmaceutical and financial services corporations in the areas of organizational and management development and executive coaching. In addition, he has advised senior executives in Human Resources on the design and implementation of company-wide executive training programs.
Because he has owned and operated his own business, Dr. Goodman has a deep understanding of the complexities facing today’s business owners and managers. He has developed expertise in the areas of customer service, public relations, budgetary and fiscal management, marketing, and developing effective work teams.
Dr. Goodman received his A.B. and M.Ed. from Rutgers University and his Ed.D. from Harvard University, where he specialized in Human Development and Systems Communication. He is a Clinical Instructor in Psychology, Department of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School and Assistant Attending Psychologist, McLean Hospital. He is also a founding board member of The Executive Coaching Forum, a non-profit organization whose mission is to establish and disseminate best practices and ethical guidelines for the field of executive coaching worldwide via “The Executive Coaching Handbook,” now in its second edition. His most recent writing is, “Coaching Senior Executives for Effective Business Leadership: The Use of Developmental Theory for Transformative Change,” a chapter in Executive Coaching: Perspectives and Practices, Catherine Fitzgerald (Ed.), Davies-Black, 2002.
